About

Welcome To My Health Blog :),

Growing up in a Jamaican household and in a Caribbean community, many of our parents and grand parents would use a variety  of herbs/herbal (bush) and home remedies to treat many of the things we run to the doctor for today. The purpose of this page is to share old time remedies and natural alternatives used,  past and present ,that can probably be beneficial to us.

Health does not only refer to physical health.  .According to the World Health Organization: “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Wellness is important to our longevity.  In order to work toward better lives we must balance the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, social, and environmental wellness. So look forward to information pertaining to these domains as well

We know that the pharmaceutical companies (affectionately known as Big Pharma) have become a  big money making entity that seems to be more toxic to us than anything else. Sometimes we do need the medicine doctors prescribe but instead of making us feel better, it is making us feel worse and causing other problems and issues. Hopefully we can work together to educate ourselves on things that may make us feel and live better, healthier lives.

On a personal note.. I have an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto Thyroiditis as well as ITP (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura – a blood disorder) and I  have been using both medical and natural means to heal. I will share lots of info about Autoimmune disease and Hashimoto on here.  I am NOT an expert but I do love sharing information that will help others. Hope it does and if it does let me know 🙂
